Smart Moves is a free, evidence-informed school transition programme from Childline by ISPCC, helping young people build resilience as they move from primary to secondary school. For the past number of years, Spectrum has managed the print, kitting and nationwide fulfilment of the physical resources behind the programme.
ABOUT SMART MOVES
Smart Moves is designed for 5th and 6th class primary students and 1st year secondary students, helping young people develop practical skills to manage the transition to secondary school with greater confidence.
The teacher-led programme is delivered free of charge to schools throughout Ireland, in both English and Irish. The long-term vision at Childline by ISPCC is for every 6th class and 1st year student, along with their parents and carers, to benefit from the programme, supporting more successful transitions into secondary school.
As one teacher involved in the programme put it:
"There are lots of wellness, wellbeing and resilience programmes being promoted for primary schools and I have found none of them to be as useful, clear and easy to use as Smart Moves."
THE CHALLENGE
With Smart Moves delivered in schools across Ireland, each participating school needs the correct combination of student and teacher resources, prepared accurately and delivered on time.
The programme includes different materials for primary and secondary students, teacher guides, classroom posters and both English and Irish-language versions.
They needed a reliable print and fulfilment partner that could manage the production, kitting and delivery of these materials accurately and consistently across participating schools.
As a non-profit, they work within tight budget constraints, so accuracy and cost control matter as much as reliability. Delivering Smart Moves at scale without overruns helps keep the programme free for every participating school.

The materials are printed to suit their individual use before being brought together into school-ready packs and prepared for delivery.
